The goal is simple.  Eliminate enemies by hitting them with the correct colored blade.  This will score you points.  The higher the points, the more of a gamer you are.  Achieving new highscores will award you with cosmetic displays of accomplishment, sort of like karate belts (or at least the ones I found on google images).  Another thing.  Defeating enemies without missing or taking damage is called streaking.  The higher the streak, the more shield time you accumulate.  Enemies get faster as time goes on. You can use a shield to protect yourself from incoming enemies while still being able to attack.  If an enemy hits you  three times while unshielded, the game resets and saves your new highscore, granted you were gamer enough to get one.
